ELGIN, IL (09/21/2018) (readMedia)-- Illinois Army National Guard Specialist Jovany Padilla of Round Lake, Illinois, has been named "Soldier of the Year" of North Riverside's 198th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.

Padilla was recognized as the battalion's "Soldier of the Year" on Sept. 8 at the battalion's annual military ball at the Holiday Inn in Elgin, Illinois. Padilla, a member of the battalion's 3625th Component Repair Company, had competed in the battalion's Best Warrior Competition the previous weekend. He will now compete in the 108th Sustainment Brigade's Best Warrior Competition
