Runners Vie for A Little More Cowbell at State Fair's Milk Run

ST. PAUL, MINN. (08/27/2010)(readMedia)-- Head to the fairgrounds for video footage and photos of the race that's become a tradition within Minnesota's favorite end-of-summer tradition--the State Fair's 26th Annual 5K Milk Run.
Who: More than 1,500 runners from across the United States including Illinois, Colorado, Oregon, Virginia, Nebraska, Ohio, North Dakota, California, Washington, Wisconsin and of course, Minnesota.
When: Sunday, Aug. 29 - The race begins at 7:45 a.m. and runners start crossing the finish line at approximately 8 a.m.
Where: Minnesota State Fairgrounds - Milk Run begins and ends at the Blue Ribbon Picnic area on West Dan Patch Avenue, west of Heritage Square. The route moves off the fairgrounds and winds through the U of M Campus and St. Anthony Park neighborhood.
What else?: Runners compete for the fastest times and the highly-coveted engraved steel cowbell trophies that go to top male and female winners. Each participant receives a Milk Run T-shirt, admission to the fair, a malt coupon and a chance at door prizes. The 26th Annual Milk Run is sponsored by Great River Energy.
