STATEMENT FROM SECURE AMERICA NOW ABOUT ADVOCACY ADS

WASHINGTON, DC (10/17/2014)(readMedia)-- Secure America Now announced today that the organization has withdrawn, from all states, the border security advocacy campaign ads that feature a cameo of James Foley.

"It has been brought to our attention that a news report image of American hostage James Foley that appeared in a Secure America Now video has upset his parents, so we have decided to take the video down," said Allen Roth, President of Secure America Now. "It was never our intention to upset Mr. Foley's family and we apologize for any pain we inadvertently caused."

"The purpose of the video was to draw attention to Washington's failure to secure our borders from real threats by terrorists," said Roth. "That remains our objective and we will continue to engage in this public debate."
