DETAILS: Leaders and members of the New York Public Transit Association (NYPTA) and leaders and members from the Amalgamated Transit Union from around the state will welcome Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as a keynote speaker during the New York Public Transit Industry's three-day conference in Albany. Sen. Clinton is a long-time champion of public transit and its labor force in New York State. This week Sen. Clinton urged President Bush to speed investments in infrastructure including $410 million in roads, bridges and transit systems, as well as green collar jobs.
NYPTA's 25th Anniversary: This conference also features the 25th anniversary celebration of the New York Public Transit Association, Inc. For the past quarter century, this not-for-profit association, has been devoted to advancing and supporting public transit providers and transportation development in New York State. On this occasion, NYPTA also celebrates the induction of two more transit professionals into its Transit Hall of Fame.
