Senior Health Fair at the Capital Region Health Park

LATHAM, NY (06/14/2007)(readMedia)-- Latham- On Tuesday, June 19th from 9am-1pm, Community Care Physicians invites all older adults to attend the Senior Health Fair at the Capital Region Health Park in Latham. This free event is sponsored by Price Chopper, Community Care Physicians, PC, and the MVP Gold Medicare Advantage plan to promote health awareness through education and prevention and to provide information to seniors about services available in the area. . Seniors who want to be active in their health will be provided with an array of free health screenings and presentations. The screenings will address blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, vision, hearing, osteoporosis, prostate, pulse volume reading (circulation) and memory assessment.

Community information booths will also be set up throughout the event providing materials about health and wellness. If you have any questions regarding any prescriptions you are taking, a Price Chopper pharmacist will be available to discuss them with you.

Starting at 9:30am, MVP Gold’s Community Health Educator, Kristine Lindahl will give a brief seminar on Walking Well. Watch and learn more about the Silver Sneakers Fitness Program at 10am, 11am, and 12pm. Free screenings will be provided from 9am-1pm, no reservation is required.

Refreshment and complimentary items will be provided throughout the event, including Price Chopper gift certificates to be raffled off every hour. Yolanda Vega of the NYS Lottery will be giving away free lottery tickets to the first 100 seniors between 9am-10am.
