ST. PAUL, MN (03/07/2012)(readMedia)--

Concordia University, St. Paul will host the seventh annual Choral Arts Finale on Sunday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. Concordia's Christus Chorus will be performing, along with five competitively selected high school choirs from Armstrong High School (Robbinsdale), Buffalo High School, Eagan High School, Princeton High School and the Bella Voce Young Women's Choir from Rochester. The event is designed to showcase Minnesota's top high school choirs as selected through an audition process by members of the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota (ACDA).

The five selected choirs will participate in a full-day choral clinic on the campus of Concordia University, culminating in a performance with both solo and massed performances at Orchestra Hall. Dr. André Thomas of Florida State University, a distinguished composer of spirituals and gospels, will be the guest clinician. Concordia's Christus Chorus will join the five Minnesota choirs to perform a gospel piece arranged by Dr. Thomas.

The event is co-sponsored by Concordia University, St. Paul and the ACDA, with support of David and Sandy Frauenshuh. Tickets are $13 and can be purchased at the Orchestra Hall Box Office at 612-371-5656.
