SPRINGFIELD, IL (04/11/2018) (readMedia)-- Springfield, Ill. – Francis Sarnecki of Springfield was promoted from master sergeant to first sergeant on Sunday, April 8, at Camp Lincoln and assumes the top noncommissioned officer position for the Illinois Army National Guard's Headquarters Headquarters Detachment of Joint Force Headquarters - Illinois.
As first sergeant, Sarnecki assumes responsibility for the individual training and readiness of more than 160 enlisted Soldiers in the unit. Sarnecki's previous unit was the 1844th Transportation Company. He has more than 22 years of military service.
