ST. PAUL, MN (05/27/2011)(readMedia)-- MayKao Hang, a St. Paul resident originally from Laos, served as the Concordia University, St. Paul commencement speaker during the commencement ceremony May 13, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., in the Gangelhoff Center on the Concordia campus. Hang is the President and CEO of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation. Under her leadership, the nonprofit health and human services organization combines direct service, research and community development to address the needs of around 10,000 vulnerable residents of St. Paul every year.

Hang has a bachelor's in Psychology from Brown University and a master's degree in Social Policy and Distributive Justice from the Hubert. H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. She also serves on the Board of Hnub Tshiab: Hmong Women Achieving Together, Twin Cities LISC, and the St. Paul and Minnesota Community Foundations.
