ALBANY, NY (05/22/2008)(readMedia)-- The New York State Board of Elections will host campaign finance seminars in Watertown, Elmira and Binghamton on May 28th, 29th and 30th respectively.
Each seminar will include a presentation on financial disclosure forms and a thorough review of Article 14 of the Election Law, any recent amendments to the Law and supporting statements which may have to be filed by candidates and treasurers. Copies of the Board's "Handbook of Instructions for Campaign Financial Disclosure" will be provided.
The seminars are designed to provide candidates for state and local office, treasurers, PACs, party organizations and county boards of elections personnel with information needed to comply with the State's campaign finance disclosure requirements. The seminars will be conducted by staff members from the Board’s Enforcement Counsel’s Office and the Board’s Campaign Finance Unit. Members of the media and the public are welcome.
All seminars begin at 9:30am and conclude at 12:30pm. Locations for the seminars mentioned above are as follows:
Watertown - Wednesday, May 28, 2008, NYS Office Building, 317 Washington Street, 11th Floor Conference Room 1, Watertown, NY 13601.
Elmira – Thursday, May 29, 2008, Chemung County Board of Elections, 378 Main Street, Elmira, NY 14905.
Binghamton – Friday, May 30, 2008, Broome County Office Building, 2nd Floor Auditorium, 44 Hawley Street, Binghamton, NY 13902.
