2010 MN State Fair Commemorative Art created by Deborah Voyda Rogers

SAINT PAUL, MINN. (06/09/2010)(readMedia)-- The Minnesota State Fair's 2010 Commemorative Art was unveiled this morning by Minnesota artist Deborah Voyda Rogers of White Bear Lake, Minn. Surrounded by media, State Fair fans and art enthusiasts, she presented her original piece to the public for the first time at the J.V. Bailey House on the State Fairgrounds.

The pastel piece, created exclusively for the State Fair, boldly showcases some of the Great Minnesota Get-Together's most prominent and historically significant architecture.

"The historic buildings of the fairgrounds are the inspiration for the 2010 Minnesota State Fair poster," Rogers says. "There have been changes in the buildings as well as the fair in its long history. For modern fair guests, the buildings remain a solid connection to the past."

Commemorative art posters and a limited number of signed giclee prints featuring Rogers' piece are available for purchase at www.msffoundation.org. Posters may also be purchased at the State Fair Box Office on the fairgrounds. Sizes and pricing are as follows: posters (18"x24") $10; and large giclee prints (20"x25") $100. Proceeds from commemorative art merchandise support the Minnesota State Fair Foundation 501(c)(3) mission to preserve and improve State Fair buildings, grounds and educational experiences.

The 2010 Minnesota State Fair runs Aug. 26 - Sept. 6. Visit www.mnstatefair.org for more information.
