SAINT PAUL , MN (06/04/2015)(readMedia)-- The Minnesota State Fair's 2015 Commemorative Art was unveiled this evening at 5 p.m. by Twin Cities illustrator Adam Turman. Surrounded by State Fair enthusiasts and Turman fans, he presented his original screen print to the public for the first time on the State Fairgrounds. The artwork will be on display in the Fine Arts Center during the 2015 Great Minnesota Get-Together, Aug. 27 through Labor Day, Sept. 7 and can be viewed online at mnstatefair.org/art.

Turman's Minnesota State Fair illustration combines bold colors and graphics with nostalgic, vintage charm for a fresh, yet classic artistic interpretation of our Great Minnesota Get-Together.

"I am thrilled to have created the 2015 Commemorative Art for the Minnesota State Fair," said Turman, a resident of St. Louis Park and graphic design graduate of the University of Minnesota. "I created this work after spending time at last year's fair and hanging out in the new West End Market area that showcased the nostalgic Streetcar Arch. I enjoyed capturing this iconic landmark, along with the Grandstand and a Ferris wheel, for fair lovers all over the state of Minnesota."

Turman is an illustrator, muralist, fine artist and screenprinter well-known for creating distinctive visuals that have become iconic representations of local landmarks, craft breweries, eating establishments, charity events, music venues and biking groups, to name just a few. Notable recent work includes outdoor murals on downtown Minneapolis' Butcher & the Boar restaurant and Sisyphus Brewery; promotional materials for Red Bull; work for Surly Brewing; graphics for Sierra Nevada Brewing, Peace Coffee, the Current and Radio K; and covers for Bicycle Times Magazine. The commemorative poster, a limited number of signed screen prints and other merchandise featuring the art are available for purchase at msffoundation.org. Proceeds support the Minnesota State Fair Foundation 501(c)(3) mission to preserve and improve State Fair buildings, grounds and educational programs.
