State Fair's 2012 Free Entertainment Lineup Features More Than 100 Acts
ST. PAUL, MINN. (05/21/2012)(readMedia)-- The 2012 Minnesota State Fair free entertainment lineup features more than 100 acts--all free with the price of fair admission.
This year's Leinie Lodge Bandshell Tonight! Series features Dawes, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Hairball, The Mavericks, Wilson Phillips and Bettye LaVette.
The Leinie Lodge Bandshell's daytime entertainment includes: Morgan Frazier, Tonic Sol-fa, JT?Hodges, Mockingbird Sun, Elizabeth Cook, Jeffery Broussard & The Creole Cowboys, The 34th Infantry Division "Red Bull" Band, Squeezebox, The Johnny Hiland Band, Mandy Barnett, The Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir, Home Free, Wanda Jackson, Will Hoge, Marlee Scott, The Cleverlys, Big Sam's Funky Nation and The Bad Larrys.
Acts confirmed for Bazaar After Dark at the International Bazaar Stage (sponsored by Summit Brewing Co.) are Soul Tight Committee, The International Reggae All Stars, Davina & The Vagabonds, K-Libre 24, Hookers &?Blow and Tropical Zone Orchestra.
The Sweet Colleens, Caroline Smith & The Good Night Sleeps, JD McPherson, Monroe Crossing, The New Standards and Molly Maher & Erik Koskinen will perform evenings at the Heritage Square Stage (sponsored by August Schell Brewing Co.) for the Heritage At Sundown Series.
In addition to music, there is a myriad of other entertainment all around the fairgrounds. Rescued from animal shelters around the country, Doggies of the Wild West are back near Heritage Square to take fair guests back to the frontier days with their comedic stunt show. Flippenout, a high-energy trampoline show, returns to The X-Zone and features world-class athletes reaching heights of more than 25 feet. The Timberworks Lumberjack Show and Ron Schara's Minnesota Bound bring The North?Woods (sponsored by Gander Mountain and Good Health Saunas) to life at the corner of Cooper Street and Lee Avenue. Visitors can become State Fair superstars at Karaoke in The Garden (sponsored by Treasure Island Resort &?Casino). The Daily Mall Parade runs at 2 p.m. every day of the fair, featuring floats, special guests and the State Fair High School Marching Band Competition. Music, costumed characters and magicians just for kids and their families are the focus at the Family Fair Stage in Baldwin Park (sponsored by Green Mill Restaurant). The Ramberg Senior Center Stage (sponsored by Cal Spas) features special entertainment for senior citizen fair guests.
