Strawberries Welcome Everyone to Summer in New York
LEWISTON, NY (06/10/2009)(readMedia)-- It most certainly has been quite a year since we last visited our local farmer's markets to select locally grown fresh strawberries. While a great many things have challenged us and tried our beliefs to our core it is a relief to know that some things in life we can count on. The bounty flowing from the rich New York soils and the energy provided by the warm rays of the sun have a new crop of strawberries waiting for you and your family to sample. While many thinga all around us may come and go, the great taste of that fresh juicy strawberry just picked will never disappoint you. The growers of New York have once again produced an excellent crop of berries that are waiting just down the road from your house. In fact to find the nearest location simply log onto NYSBGA.org and select the county you live in and a list of locations near you will pop up. Here you can find locations, hours of operation and many other helpful tips.
The good news is that the strawberry crop is here! The bad news it will not last forever. So it is up to you to gather the kids, your folks and freinds and get on down to your local berry farm or roadside market to gather in those first tasty treats of summer. There are enough for everyone but like the summer days of New York they will not last forever.
Word of advice. Please do not tell the kids that berries are actually good for them. I would rather they just enjoyed the fun of selecting that berry just reaching up to them and savoring the taste. So please do not tell them and ruin the experience! Now get going and log onto NYSBGA.org to find a farm near you. The first great taste of summer is ready for you to enjoy.
