DES MOINES, IA (10/10/2013)(readMedia)-- Over 50 Iowa State Education Association student members and other volunteers from all over the state will pick up paint brushes, hammers, shovels, brooms, and mops to repair, landscape, and spruce up Cornell Elementary in the Saydel Community School District for the 2013 Outreach to Teach event. Volunteers will begin early in the morning and work until the school clean-up is complete. The event is part of the National Education Association's (NEA) community based Outreach to Teach program which began when educators from around the country gathered to help clean-up a school at the NEA's national annual meeting.

WHAT: | Outreach to Teach celebrates its 17th year with a volunteer clean-up effort at Cornell Elementary school where ISEA student members and other education professionals will work both inside and outside the school grounds. Volunteers will work on bulletin boards, paint murals, cut box tops, repair playground equipment, and do general cleaning. |
