ROCHESTER, NY (10/22/2012)(readMedia)-- Leaders from The Business Council of New York State, NFIB of NY and Unshackle Upstate came together today to support and endorse Sean Hanna in the 55th State Senate District.
"Sean knows small business is the backbone of our economy. He understands that to put New York on a path to economic recovery we need to lower taxes and lower the cost of doing business in this state," said Heather Briccetti, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. "As a member of the Assembly Sean has been a champion of pro-growth policies that create jobs. He will continue to focus on those policies when he is elected Senator."
"Unshackle Upstate is proud to support Sean Hanna's campaign for New York State Senate. As a business owner himself, he knows the barriers New York puts in front of employers. That experience drives his commitment to stimulating job growth, easing the tax burden and strengthening our economy. Sean's score of 87 on our 2012 Legislative Scorecard is reflective of his tireless efforts on behalf of his constituents. We encourage the voters of the 55th Senate District to cast their vote for Sean Hanna on Election Day," said Brian Sampson, executive director of Unshackle Upstate.
"Sean Hanna was a committed supporter of small business in the Assembly, and will be a terrific advocate in the Senate," said NFIB/New York State Director Mike Durant. "Assemblyman Hanna stood with small business to help enact two consecutive fiscally responsible budgets and will continue his hard work to put New York on the path to economic revitalization," Durant said.
"I am honored to receive the endorsement from each of these groups, and take great pride in their support," said Hanna. "I am committed to improving New York's business climate by easing the burden on small companies and middle class taxpayers."
As a member of the Assembly, Sean supported much of our economic reform agendas which include the enactment of a property tax cap; mandate relief and tax reform; public employee pension reforms and limiting government borrowing.
Sean scored 83 percent on the Business Council's 2012 Voters' Guide for his votes in the Assembly.
The 2012 Voters' Guide, and Unshackle Upstate Scorecard measure New York State legislators' commitment to promoting fiscal reform and improving the state's economic climate by scoring their votes on key legislation during the 2012 session.
