ROCHESTER, NY (12/04/2018) What are you doing New Year's Eve? The Capitol Steps, a Washington D.C.-based comedy troupe that began as a group of Senate staffers, will present a show based on songs from their current album Make America Grin Again at the Nazareth College Arts Center on Monday, December 31 at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The Nazareth College Arts Center is located at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, 14618.

THE PERFORMANCE
The Capitol Steps have elevated political satire to an art form. Before The Daily Show, Full Frontal, and The Colbert Report, this comedy troupe had audiences in stitches with their personal brand of bipartisan lampooning.

Now in its 37th year, The Capitol Steps has recorded an album of laugh-out-loud songs each year, including their latest, Make America Grin Again. From songs such as "Faking News Is Hard to Do" to "Happy Days Are Here for Dems," expect parodies skewering the greatest political foibles of the day.

"New Year's Eve with the Capitol Steps is a tradition in Rochester," said Arts Center Executive Director Rita Mannelli. "No matter the political climate, there is never a shortage of material!"

The Capitol Steps will make their 24th appearance at Nazareth for Rochester's favorite New Year's Eve tradition of politically based satire ripped from current headlines. Irreverent, uproarious, and adamantly bipartisan, the award-winning troupe has been featured numerous times on primetime TV, as well as four times a year on its popular National Public Radio specials. It doesn't matter if you're a Republican or Democrat, a snowflake or a deplorable: no one is safe from the group that puts the "MOCK" in democracy!
