**UPDATE**Helicopter to be displayed en route to D.C. Armory

UH-1V to be moved and displayed to public

WASHINGTON, DC (11/29/2012)(readMedia)-- A UH-1V helicopter is en route to the D.C. Armory, where it is slated to be mounted for display Friday, Nov. 30. Media are invited to view the installation, which will begin around 10a.m. and continue throughout the day. The helicopter will be arriving on a flatbed truck and will be moved into position with a crane. The installation was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 27.

The helicopter will become a permanent fixture outside of the armory and is open to the public. The display is part of ongoing improvements to the armory building.

A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 2nd at 11a.m., immediately following a ceremony honoring the service of D.C. National Guard soldiers and airmen since 9/11. Media are welcome to this event.

The helicopter was part of the D.C. Army National Guard inventory, and was used during Hurricane Katrina relief efforts and on Southwest Border Patrol before its retirement.
