Vermont Code Camp 9 Brings Technology Community Together for a Day of Learning

Champlain College to Host Annual Event on Sept. 16

BURLINGTON, VT (09/13/2017) Champlain College will host the ninth annual Vermont Code Camp on Saturday, Sept. 16. The free, full-day event brings together members of the Vermont technology community, students, and professionals to learn about software, programming, databases, the web, and more.

The Vermont Code Camp began in in 2009 with 85 attendees and 19 information sessions. The 2017 edition is slated to have more than 200 attendees and 37 sessions. Speakers will cover a wide variety of technology topics including .NET, PHP, Ruby, Python, and Java, security, bitcoin, writing clean code and even the "Technical Art of Mead Making" to top off the day's presentations.

Vermont Code Camp is organized entirely by community volunteers, with the help of several sponsors, including Champlain College, Burlington Telecom, Dealer.com, Vermont Information Processing, IBM Watson Data Platform, Galen Healthcare, BTV Ignite, Logic Supply, Competitive Computing, and Tyler Technologies. There will be a jobs board and many sponsors will be providing information on available positions.

The event begins with registration at 8 a.m. and sessions running from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. in the Champlain College Center for Communication and Creative Media, with the support of the Division of Information, Technology and Science (ITS) instructors and students.
