PHILADELPHIA, PA (07/01/2013)(readMedia)-- Nicholle Giberson, a resident of Voorhees, NJ, was selected to compete in the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) College Bowl to be held at the organization's annual meeting in Las Vegas in August. Giberson is a student in the Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) Master of Science in Nursing program at Thomas Jefferson University's Jefferson School of Nursing.
Giberson, who will finish the CRNA program in 2014, has attended two previous AANA conferences and says, "The college bowl is always a blast, with such high energy and school pride. I thought TJU needed to be represented!" In preparation for the competition she is reading the "Sweat Book" study guide and reviewing the "Memory Master" study questions.
AANA says the prime objective of the Anesthesia College Bowl is to stimulate interest in the current knowledge and practices of anesthesia. A second objective of the competition is to offer students an opportunity to network with peers from throughout the U.S. All College Bowl questions are submitted by nurse anesthesia program directors, and they must be open-ended with about 20% of them focused on new topics in nurse anesthesia from the past year.
