Walk for Asthma in Memory of Anna Child
ANNA OH (08/16/2011)(readMedia)-- The annual Ryan J. Dentinger Memorial Asthma Walk will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at Anna Community Park in Anna. This is the 5th Asthma Walk held in Ryan's memory to benefit the American Lung Association in Ohio and its efforts toward asthma education and research to find a cure.
On August 26, 2003, Ryan suffered an asthma attack and passed away at age nine. Ryan was not a severe asthmatic but did use his inhaler as part of his treatment. The mission of his family, friends and Walkers in this particular Asthma Walk is to make people aware of how asthma can affect people even though they are not considered severe asthmatics.
Parents of Ryan, Paul and Christie Dentinger along with close friends have coordinated the annual Asthma Walk along with other fundraising events which have raised an amazing nearly $90,000 for lung health education, advocacy, and research. Proceeds will help support asthma research and educational programs in Ohio. By registering today you take a step towards making a difference.
Registration is free for everyone. All participants who raise the suggested minimum of $100 will receive an official Asthma Walk T-shirt. Individual and team prizes will be awarded at various fundraising levels. Individuals and teams are welcome to participate in this family-friendly event.
