Working Families are the Winners in the General Election

Tonight, New York State AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento issued the following statement:

ALBANY, NY (11/07/2012)(readMedia)-- More union members than ever volunteered in campaigns coordinated by the New York State AFL-CIO. Throughout the state, union members spoke with their co-workers, knocked on hundreds of thousands of doors, and most of all made sure their voice was heard at the polls. They proved once again that when we come together to fight for the issues that matter most to New York's hardworking families, we can accomplish great things as a movement. Labor's endorsed candidates were overwhelmingly successful tonight and as a result New York's working families are the real winners.

The New York State AFL-CIO is a federation of 3,000 affiliated public sector, private sector, and building trades unions throughout the state representing 2.5 million members, retirees and their families. Our State Federation, which is the largest and most diverse in the country, is committed to helping working families achieve a better life.
