SARANAC LAKE, NY (08/05/2011)(readMedia)-- "As Adirondack Health we are one system of comprehensive programs and services geared toward improving lives. Without question or confusion, we are 'Leading care for a healthy community,'" Adirondack Medical Center (AMC) President and CEO Chandler Ralph announced at a press conference held on July 21 at Lake Colby Park across from the hospital in Saranac Lake, NY.
AMC is celebrating its new brand, Adirondack Health, with a new look on advertising, posters and in stories from its employees and patients, to honor 100 years of health-care services.
"What does Adirondack Health look like?" Ralph asked before revealing the new image with photos of 100 health-care workers and patients. "These are our families, our friends and our neighbors," Ralph said of the faces. "You inspire me every single day."
The culmination of many hours of research, interviews, and concept development led to a new brand that represents its entire health care system under one name, Adirondack Health. Along with the creative elements associated with such a grand change that included a new logo and tagline, "Leading Care for a Healthy Community," Zone 5's healthcare marketing team also played the role of strategic advisors regarding the position of the healthcare institution.
Ensuring the institution is properly positioned is imperative when undergoing a name change, and the homework put in before the final decision included input from all interested constituents. "Buy-in from staff, donors and the community alike is important when reshaping an organization," said Paul Fahey, COO of Zone 5. "Especially in the healthcare environment-so many people are touched by the work Adirondack Health performs. It's imperative that they know their commitment to the community is the underlying mission."
The new brand name for AMC unites its seven facilities as Adirondack Health; it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the hospital's founding in 1911. The shared name emphasizes the breadth and depth of services provided in several locations throughout the Adirondacks. In addition to the medical center, AMC runs Tupper Lake Health Center, AMC Lake Placid and Mountain Health Center in Keene, along with two nursing homes.
Zone 5 has been working with Adirondack Health since 2010, and is currently helping to implement the name and logo change across all forms of communication.
