readMedia's Technology Delivers "Hometown News" for UAlbany
ALBANY, NY (07/13/2007)(readMedia)-- readMedia, a leading provider of "hyper-local" press-release distribution technology, announced today that the University at Albany will be using readMedia's Mass Localization Engine (MLE) for graduation, Dean's List, and other "hometown news" about its students. The Mass Localization Engine will enable the University to send customized news about its students to each student's hometown newspapers.
The MLE is a component of readMedia's newly launched, web-based press release distribution system which enables colleges and universities to send dozens-or thousands-of highly customized press releases at a time to the right hometown newspaper. The MLE is simple to use. A single staffer can set up and send releases for thousands of students in less than an hour, meaning universities may finally provide timely, specific, and relevant news to local papers about graduation, honors and distinctions, athletics, extracurricular achievements, and involvement in certain campus clubs and associations-to name just a few applications.
UAlbany's graduating Spring class of 2007-more than 2,300 students-will be the first group of the university's students whose hometown news announcements will be sent using readMedia's MLE.
