ALBANY, NY (11/17/2011)(readMedia)-- The New York Capital Region Chapter of the American Marketing Association (NYCRAMA) raised $1,000 for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer at their 17th Annual Mark of Excellence Awards held on October 5, 2011.
A special component this year to the Mark of Excellence Awards was donating to the American Cancer Society and having a special guest speaker. The Guest Speaker was Diana Martin, Regional Vice President for the American Cancer Society. Martin discussed the marketing model used to grow the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" event over the past 15 years into the largest walk in the Capital Region on a very limited budget. Last year, the "Making Strides" walk at Washington Park drew more than 13,000 participants and raised over $1 million.
