ALBANY, NY (02/11/2009)(readMedia)-- The Northeast Green Building Conference 2009 has been rescheduled for April 23 and 24, 2009. The new date follows Earth Day - April 22. The conference is a collaborative effort of the Workforce Development Institute of Hudson Valley Community College, the New York Upstate Chapter of the United States Green Building Council and the Associated General Contractors of New York State.
"The synergy in following Earth Day provides us the opportunity to take advantage of the greater interest in all things 'Green' that week," said Rich Bennett, director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development at Hudson Valley Community College. "It also allows attendees coming from out of the area to participate in other Green events throughout the Capital Region that week."
New York State First Lady Michelle Paige Paterson has been invited to be the keynote speaker for the conference, to discuss the "Greening the Executive Mansion" initiative. New York is the first state to register for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Certification for the residence of the state's chief executive.
All workshop programs and guest speakers originally scheduled are included in the April conference.
The conference location is the Clarion Hotel, 3 Watervliet Avenue, Albany, NY. For more information on the Northeast Green Building Conference 2009, go to: http://www.hvcc.edu/wdi.
