2nd Annual Family Fun Farm Olympics at Liberty Ridge Farm

SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (10/08/2009)(readMedia)-- The Family Fun Farm Olympics at Liberty Ridge Farm will be held this Columbus Day Weekend. Come enjoy our fall festival with old fashioned games and prizes at the Family Farm Olympics. The games kick off with a farm-style Opening Ceremony Parade, followed by races, relays, and games. Join in some old fashioned games, like Potato Sack Races and 3-Legged Relays. End the afternoon with our Olympic Award Ceremony, where everyone gets to take home a commemorative medal!

"We are pleased to be supporting the services and programs of Vanderheyden," said Cynthia Gifford of Liberty Ridge Farm, "they'll be joining us throughout the weekend, participating in the Farm Olympics and roasting marshmallows at one of our special campfire sites."

The Family Farm Olympics weekend will benefit the children and family service programs of Vanderheyden, with a percentage of every paid admission being donated to Vanderheyden. Vanderheyden will have a display about their programs in the Liberty Ridge Farm Pony Barn. Staff will be on hand with information about the organization and its service programs.

The Columbus Day weekend Family Fun Farm Olympics festivities include specialty foods, face painting by Magic Brushes, scarecrow decorating along Scarecrow Row, and Farmer Bruce will be strolling the grounds with balloon artistry, tricks and jokes. The Family Farm Olympics will be from 1:00P.M. – 6:00 P.M Saturday, Sunday and Monday, October 10th - 12th.

Families attending the 2009 Family Farm Olympics can enjoy all the fun at Liberty Ridge Farm with the ExploreNY Adventure Corn Maze, Brad's Barnyard of Family Fun Adventure, and The Gifford Barn. Kids love playing in the 8-acre Brad's Barnyard of family farm adventure, featuring the Miss Moo's Musical Revue, Giant Gerbil Wheels, Pig races, trolley rides and feeding the farm animals.
