American Lung Association kicks-off LUNG FORCE Detroit with Turquoise Takeover in celebration of National Women's Lung Health Week to help fight lung cancer in women.

WHY:

Lung Cancer is the #1 cancer killer of both men and women.

Every five minutes, a woman in the United States is told that she has lung cancer.

Every eight minutes, a woman in the United States dies of lung cancer.

Less than half of all women diagnosed with lung cancer will be alive one year after diagnosis.

Only 16% of those diagnosed will still be alive after five years.

ANYONE can get lung cancer.

WHAT:

Celebrate National Women's Lung Health Week (Week of May 11th) and the American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE, a national health education movement with a singular mission to unite women to stand together against lung cancer and for lung health.

Wear turquoise in your office and during May 12th broadcasts and encourage your viewers and social media followers to get involved by turning turquoise

Show your support for LUNG FORCE – a national women's health initiative from the American Lung Association with a singular mission to unite women to stand together against lung cancer and for lung health – by participating in our TURQUOISE TAKEOVER on Tuesday May 12th (during National Women's Lung Health Week).
