COLUMBUS OH (08/22/2014)(readMedia)-- Laverne Yousey, Akron OH, is the new secretary of the charter board of the American Lung Association of the Midland States. Based in Columbus OH, ALAMS provides programs and services to the residents of Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
Yousey has been active with the American Lung Association for about 30 years, serving in a variety of capacities on the local, regional, and state boards. These include the Akron/Canton Board of Directors, the Northeast Ohio Advisory Board, the state Board of Ohio and his work on the charter board. He has also served as the chairman of the Cleveland-based Regional Leadership Council of the American Lung Association of the Midland States.
Currently an Independent Arts & Crafts Professional, he is retired from the University of Akron, where he was chairman of the Allied Health Department and taught respiratory care.
He has also been active with the United Way.
