Montgomery, Alabama – The Alabama National Guard will host the fourth annual Alabama National Guard/Title-10 Active Duty Defense Support of Civil Authorities Integration meeting August 3 and 4, 2016 at the Alabama National Guard Joint Forces Headquarters, 1720 Congressman Dickinson Drive, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
The purpose of this meeting is for the Alabama National Guard and the Alabama Emergency Management Agency to meet with their potential Title-10 Active Duty and U.S. Coast Guard Defense Support of Civil Authorities partners to discuss how everyone would operate together and support each other in a complex disaster scenario. The Alabama National Guard Director of the Joint Staff, Brig. Gen. James E. Porter, is the host for the event.
The Alabama National Guard invited Active Duty military installations that reside in Alabama, FEMA Region IV Defense Coordinating Officer, Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officers assigned to Alabama, designated Title-10 Deputy Dual Status Commander from NORTHCOM and others to attend. The two day meeting will consist of informational briefings and a table top exercise with discussions on an Alabama National Guard and Title-10 Active Duty response to a major hurricane strike in Alabama.
