MONTGOMERY, AL (08/30/2016)(readMedia)-- The Alabama National Guard will welcome home the Soldiers of the 214th Military Police Company, out of Alexander City, at 6:00 p.m., Sept. 3, at the football stadium at Charles E. Bailey Sports Complex, 1842 Sportplex Boulevard, Alexander City, Alabama.

The approximately 135 Alabama Army National Guard Soldiers deployed in October 2015 to conduct a 24-hour external security force mission in Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The unit contributed to the joint task force mission of conducting safe, humane, legal and transparent care and custody of detainees.

Civilian and National Guard officials will be on-hand to welcome home the Soldiers of the 214th. The general public and media are also invited to attend and are encouraged to arrive early.
