The American Red Cross New York-Penn Blood Services Region will host a special "Community That Cares" blood drive Sunday, June 29, Asbury First United Methodist Church
1040 East Ave., Rochester, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. "A Community That Cares" blood drive is a Red Cross initiative, which provides the opportunity for various community groups to come together for a common, larger blood drive. The purpose of the drive to help boost regional blood supplies by enlisting community support particularly during the summer months when blood inventories can be at their lowest.
As a special token of thanks, all presenting donors who help boost this month's blood supply will receive a Red Cross T-shirt from June 21-July 12. In addition, all presenting donors will be eligible to enter a random drawing to win one of four $250.00 gas cards. The drawing will be held throughout the Region on Monday, July 7. All current and new donors are strongly urged to call 1-800-GIVE- LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or visit www.DonateBloodNow.org to schedule an appointment. Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Sixteen-year-olds may donate blood provided they bring an original signed an Informed Parental Consent for a 16-Year-Old to Donate Whole Blood to the blood drive.
