PHILADELPHIA, PA (06/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Andrea Casella of Clarksboro was named the top graduating student in the accounting program at La Salle University. In the spring semester of her freshman year, Andrea was chosen to be a member of University's chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, where she was also elected to serve as the chapter treasurer. Andrea most recently served as the chapter's Executive Vice President. A member of La Salle's Business Scholars Co-op Program, she interned at AmerisourceBergen, a pharmaceutical distribution company, upon the completion of her sophomore year. Also during that summer, she participated in KPMG's Discover Program, which led to her co-op in the Auditing department at KPMG in the spring of 2010. Following her internship at KPMG, Andrea began an internship in the accounting department at the Philadelphia Eagles. Throughout her four years at La Salle, Andrea has received Dean's List Honors in each semester and has been awarded several academic awards and scholarships including the Founder's Scholarship, Accounting Department scholarships, the Joseph Scheiter Scholarship, and a scholarship from the Philadelphia Association of Financial Professionals. Additionally, in March 2010, Andrea received the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship when she was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. Andrea also serves as the Vice President of Membership for Beta Alpha – the accounting Honor Society and is also a member of the Accounting Association. Andrea plans to continue working in the accounting department at the Philadelphia Eagles this summer while she sits for the CPA Exam, and she will begin full-time employment with KPMG in the audit department this coming fall.
