Athens Unit Returns from Deployment

The Alabama Army National Guard's 203rd Military Police Battalion, of Athens, will be returning from a year long deployment to Iraq Saturday, June 19. The troops, now demobilizing in Fort Bliss, Texas, should arrive at their Athens armory at 1402 Armory Street around 2:00 p.m. Because of the individual unit needs during demobilization and travel, the time of arrival could fluctuate.

The approximately 70 members of the 203rd conducted military police security missions in their area of operations during their time in Iraq.

Guard officials encourage individuals to attend the homecoming to show support for the Guard members and their families.
