Barbetto Named Player of the Week
Anthony Barbetto Earned SUNYAC Player of the Week and Brockport Athlete of the Week honors
BROCKPORT, NY (03/25/2014)(readMedia)-- Junior Anthony Barbetto (New City, NY/Clarkstown North) of The College at Brockport baseball team has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Week as well as the Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on March 23.
Barbetto helped the Golden Eagles open up the 2014 season with a 10-3 record.
For the week, Barbetto hit. 600 and scored 10 runs. He also recorded four RBI's and four stolen bases. Closing out the week, the shortstop had four hits, three runs and two RBI's in the final of three games against Oswego, helping the Golden Eagles dominate in a 19-4 victory. Against Hilbert on Saturday, Barbetto had two runs and two RBI's off of three hits in an 18-12 Brockport win.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday at 3 pm for a conference matchup at New Paltz.
