Bring Your Appetites for 8th Annual Gifford Barn Sweet Corn Fest

SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (09/18/2009)(readMedia)-- Celebrate the bounty of locally grown corn with the 8th Annual Gifford Barn Sweet Corn Fest this Saturday and Sunday, September 19 – 20, at Liberty Ridge Farm, home of the 2009 ExploreNY Adventure Corn Maze. The Sweet Corn Fest features grilled corn-on-the-cob with specialty flavored butters, corn chowder and corn muffins prepared with select sweet corn grown and harvested at the best local farms.

The 8th Annual Gifford Barn Sweet Corn Fest features corn husking and corn-on-the-cob eating contests, face painting by Magic Brushes, and Farmer Bruce strolling the grounds with balloon artistry, tricks and jokes! Plus kids get to learn the difference between sweet corn and feed corn, and find out which type makes up the ExploreNY Adventure Corn Maze.

Families can enjoy all the fall harvest fun at Liberty Ridge Farm while attending the Sweet Corn Fest with the ExploreNY Adventure Corn Maze, Brad's Barnyard of Family Fun Adventure, and The Gifford Barn. Kids love playing in the 8-acre Brad's Barnyard of family farm adventure, featuring the Miss Moo's Musical Revue, Giant Gerbil Wheels, Pig races, trolley rides and feeding farm animals.
