Capital Region Marketers to Discuss "Members: Getting Them, Keeping Them, Selling to Them"

Breakfast Roundtable to Cover Challenges of Membership Marketing

ALBANY, NY (05/19/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York Capital Region chapter of the American Marketing Association (NYCRAMA) welcomes speakers Michael Mendrick and Joe Van De Loo, who will lead the May breakfast roundtable titled "Members: Getting Them, Keeping Them, Selling to Them" on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at The Desmond on Albany Shaker Road in Albany.

Membership marketing isn't so hard. All you have to do is connect with thousands of busy members and prospects with services that meet their most pressing needs when they don't have time to tell you what they need, let alone find and use the service when they need it.

Good luck with that.

Actually, you can have good luck with that - by tuning in to best practices from two of the region's best association marketers. At "Members: Getting Them, Keeping Them, Selling to Them," you'll hear about the most effective routes to increasing membership, member involvement, and member satisfaction. Even better, you'll learn how to make them your own.

The speakers bring decades of association expertise to the Roundtable. Since 2001, Michael Mendrick has been executive director of the Professional Ski Instructors of America-Eastern Division, which serves 11,000 members at more than 200 ski resorts from Maine to North Carolina. Earlier in his career, Mendrick enjoyed a 10-year run as the first executive director of the Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau. A former board chair for the Empire State Society of Association Executives, he is an accomplished speaker and humorist who has presented to more than 200 organizations.

Joining Mendrick will be the co-founder of a communications agency that runs associations. Joe Van De Loo spent many years in government relations, communications, and public relations before co-founding Association Development Group in 1996. Together with its subsidiary, ADG Communications and Design, the company manages marketing efforts for 14 not-for-profit organizations while providing them with day-to-day management, professional development, and strategic planning. The Empire State Society of Association Executives has presented ADG with its highest award for contributions to the association management field.
