For eleven years, Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar, Inc. (CRSAS) has remained true to its original mission: increase the number of students in Albany, Schenectady, and Troy City school districts that graduate high school and go on to college. Sponsor-A-Scholar Students are nominated by personnel at their public high schools. They are chosen based on financial need, academic potential, school attendance, and the desire to attend college.
Last June we had our fourth graduating class and the CRSAS success rate is dramatic! Over ninety-six percent of our students graduate from high school and go on to college. Please join us for our annual Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar, Inc. (CRSAS) Schenectady breakfast. We now have 272 students in their sophomore year of high school through senior year of college and with your help we can continue to expand this program. Please accept this worthwhile invitation to hear first hand from our students how vital CRSAS is to their future, and how the community at large will benefit from Sponsor-A-Scholar students returning with college degrees to diversify and enrich the workforce of the Capital Region.
Brandan Rainey SHS class of 2008, and Sridavi Rajkumar SHS class of 2003 will talk about their experiences with Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar, Inc..
Time Warner Cable and MVP Health Plan will be awarded the CRSAS Community Service Award
