ALBANY, NY (10/15/2010)(readMedia)-- Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS) will host its first ever WIFS Career Fair from 2pm to 6pm on October 20 at the Westin Waterfront in Boston, MA, as well as its 23rd National Conference, October 21-23 at the Westin Waterfront.

The career fair is geared at exposing more women to the exciting opportunities available in the financial services industry and is open to students, recent graduates, and those seeking a new career in the financial services industry. A panel of successful industry veterans will speak at 3:30 pm.

Companies exhibiting at the Career Fair include Prudential, New York Life, Northwestern Mutual, Thrivent Financial, Guardian, and Liberty Mutual.

WIFS National President Kathleen Godfrey, of Godfrey Financial Associates, Inc, is thrilled about the event. "WIFS is dedicated to attracting more women to the financial services field. This career, traditionally male, offers many incredible opportunities for women. We're here to spread the word!", says Godfrey.

On October 21, over 200 women representing the insurance and financial services industry will convene at the Boston Westin Waterfront for the 3-day WIFS National Conference. WIFS is the only national organization supporting, encouraging and advancing the success of women in the insurance and financial services industry.

The conference features the WIFS Awards Gala recognizing the 2010 WIFS Woman of the Year (Linda Witham of Thrivent Financial), the ANGEL award winner, and members of the 2010 Leaders Recognition Society, recognizing significant production levels.
