Casey Sullivan Named Defensive Player of the Week

The sophomore posted a shutout to start off the season

BROCKPORT, NY (09/03/2013)(readMedia)-- After posting a shutout in the first game of the season and coming up with some big saves the following day to help the Golden Eagles start their season 2-0, Casey Sullivan of The College at Brockport men's soccer team has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Sullivan faced eight shots in the first game of the season, but was able to make two saves and keep RIT from getting on the scoreboard. The following day, Sullivan recorded five saves and helped Brockport capture a 4-1 victory over Nazareth. In 180:00 Sullivan has only allowed one goal and currently has a save percentage of 0.875.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday at St. John Fisher for a 7:00 pm matchup.
