ALBANY, NY (05/11/2015)(readMedia)-- Hundreds of nurses, caregivers and advocates will be meeting with lawmakers in Albany on Tuesday, May 12 to discuss lifesaving legislation.
WHO: | New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF), New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA), Communication Workers of America (CWA) and the New York Statewide Senior Action Council (NYSSAC) |
WHAT: | The coalition is calling for passage of the Safe Staffing for Quality Care Act (A1548/S782) which requires safe nurse-to-patient ratios. Prior to the meetings with legislators, members of the coalition will hold a press conference to share compelling personal stories about the dangers associated with improper staffing levels at our hospitals and nursing homes. |
