Coleman Added to Athletic Communications Staff
Slippery Rock graduate and York College intern joins the Brockport Athletic department
BROCKPORT, NY (08/06/2013)(readMedia)-- Rebecca Coleman has been hired by The College at Brockport Athletic Department as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications beginning August 2013. Coleman will be responsible for a majority of the home event coverage for the 23 varsity sports at Brockport as well as help maintain the department website and social media accounts.
Prior to Brockport, Coleman served as the Athletic Communications Intern at York College of Pennsylvania. Coleman worked closely with all 22 NCAA Division III Spartan teams.
Coleman earned her Bachelor's of Science in Communications with a minor in Film and Media Studies from Slippery Rock University in 2012. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Coleman was an intern in the Slippery Rock sports information department. She was also was a four-year letter-winner for the field hockey squad and was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic team in each of her four seasons.
The graduate of Iroquois High School was a three-sport star for the Chiefs playing field hockey, basketball and track & field. She earned All-Western New York honors leading her field hockey team to the Section VI Class B championship in 2006.
Coleman will be pursuing a master's degree in Athletic Administration.
