Colgan Named Most Outstanding Field Athlete
BROCKPORT, NY (05/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Senior Dustin Colgan (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) has been named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Colgan won the hammer throw event with a toss of 50.10 meters (164'-4"), almost eight feet further than the runner-up. Brockport has now won the hammer throw seven consecutive years. Colgan also finished third in the discus event with a distance of 44.11 meters (144'-9") and fourth in the shot put with a mark of 14.52 meters (47'-7.75").
Colgan has been named to the First-Team All-SUNYAC team as well after placing first in the hammer. The senior was also named to the First-Team All-SUNYAC during the indoor season.
The top two finishers in individual events at the SUNYAC Championships make the All-Conference teams. The individual champions are on the first team and second place finishers are on the second team.
