Common Cause/NY Applauds Syracuse Redistricting Commission

SYRACUSE, NY (09/13/2022) (readMedia)-- Yesterday, the Syracuse Common Council approved district maps drawn by citizens. In response, Susan Lerner, executive director of Common Cause/NY put out the following statement:

"Yesterday the City of Syracuse proved that citizen-led redistricting is not some pipedream, but the true will of the people. New York State tate note: we can and should draw our state legislative and federal maps the same way. Redistricting need not be a national embarrassment. Common Cause/NY applauds the members of the Syracuse Redistricting Commission for their service, and the Common Council for ratifying these maps."
