Construction at the Schenectady County Public Library Won't Deter Annual Book Sale

SCHENECTADY, NY (09/26/2014)(readMedia)-- Over 40,000 fiction and non-fiction titles; from mysteries to biographies, text books to travel, cook books to children's books, will be on sale for $1.00 each, when the Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library holds its annual Used Book Sale, September 27-28, 2014.

The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat and 1 to 3 p.m. Sun. inside and out at 99 Clinton Street, Schenectady, New York 12305

Members of the media are welcome to cover the setup of the event on Friday, Sep. 16th from 1-4 p.m. and Saturday prior to 9:00 am. There will be opportunities to interview members of the Friends and volunteers. Visual opportunities include setting up thousands of books as well as volunteers interacting with the public.

The Friends of SCPL also operate the Whitney Book Corner, 600 Union Street, which sells quality used books for reasonable prices. Most hardcover books are $2 and paperbacks are $1. Store hours are Mon.-Fri. 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Thurs. till 7, Sat. 10:30 a.m.- 3 p.m., Sun. 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. large print books.
