Beat the Snow Concert Series to Begin January 10
SCHENECTADY, NY (12/29/2015)(readMedia)-- The Schenectady County Public Library begins the annual Beat the Snow Concert Series with a big bang to celebrate fifty years of library support by the Friends of the SCPL. The concert series begins on Sunday, January 10 and runs every Sunday until March 20, except for February 7th, when there will be a book sale. All concerts begin at 2:30 PM and are held in the McChesney Room of the main library on Liberty Street. The brass quintet, Route Fifty 5, will present a music program covering of the last fifty years. The Route Fifty 5 was formed in the autumn of 2008 out of a love of brass music and a commitment to the idea of the chamber ensemble. Comprised of three teachers, a university administrator, and a craftsman, our varied backgrounds give us a unique blend of sound and a fresh approach to the classics. The musicians include: Judson Hoffman - trumpet, Ben Richards - trumpet, Kara Pangburn - horn, Ryan Pangburn - trombone and Barret Germain - tuba. This clever group always surprises their audiences with not only well-performed music, but with their own version of delivery. This is just the beginning of another exciting Beat the Snow Concert Series. For more information contact Janice Walz at jmdwalz@nycap.rr.com.
