SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (10/21/2011)(readMedia)-- Liberty Ridge Farm is calling families, little wranglers and rustlers to the farm for an Old West Weekend from 1pm to 5pm Saturday and Sunday October 22nd & 23rd. Liberty Ridge Farm located in Schaghticoke, NY is home to the Capital District's largest and original Corn Maze. Western Weekend kicks off with a festival of activities including face painting, balloon artistry, inflatable horse races, rope a steer, marshmallow gun shooting and the NASA Hubble Telescope Corn Maze. The farm will have cowboys & prospectors and even a chicken Sheriff deputizing each little wrangler and rustler. The farm will be serving up apple cider donuts, fall mums, pumpkins, corn stalks, apple cider slushies and a wide variety of foods and delights from the farm kitchen.

Liberty Ridge Farm is open Friday and Saturday 10am - 10pm, with the last Ticket Sold 9:30pm. Liberty Ridge Farm and NASA are working in the SpaceFarm7 collaboration to educate families and children on space exploration thru their out of this world corn maze design. The opportunity to "Get Lost" among the stars in the Hubble Telescope Adventure Maze is a once in a lifetime event. The maze is made of 2 phases, Phase 1 bring you out to the edge of space with twists and turns that take an estimate of approximately 20-30 minutes to complete the phase. Phase 2 of the corn maze will take maze goers deeper into outer space and have them navigating stars, galaxies and the Hubble Telescope as each maze goer attempts to complete their mission in under an hour. After maze goers complete the corn maze, an Old West celebration will have; pioneers, prospectors, cowboys, outlaws and saloon girls around the farm. Western Weekend will have face painting by Magic Brushes and balloon artistry, jokes and tricks from Farmer Bruce. The riding ring will host friendly competition for all ages that will include; inflatable miniature pony races, sack races and marshmallow gun shooting, panning for gold and much more.
