WASHINGTON, DC (02/13/2015)(readMedia)-- JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. – Nearly 300 Airmen and 10 F-16C Fighting Falcons deployed from the 113th Wing, District of Columbia Air National Guard (ANG) Saturday, Feb. 7, in support of Exercise Sentry Savannah.
Sentry Savannah is a two-week long exercise hosted by Savannah's Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) for the second year in a row. It is a multi-air combat training exercise consisting of pilots and personnel from the 325th Fighter Wing, Florida ANG, 148th Fighter Wing, Minnesota ANG, and 113th Wing, District of Columbia ANG.
The exercise, running until Feb. 20, will involve F-16s, F-22 Raptors, F/A-18 Hornets, and F-15 Strike Eagles from the participating units, provides units with an opportunity to hone war-fighting skills and fly with other types of aircraft.
