WASHINGTON, DC (07/18/2017) (readMedia)-- The D.C. Department of Human Resources will host a D.C. veteran's-only hiring event at the D.C. National Guard Armory, July 19, 2017.

"DC Hires Vets," the District's largest veterans hiring event, is sponsored by the D.C. Department of Human Resources, (DCHR) in conjunction with the D.C. Mayor's office of Veterans Affairs and the D.C. National Guard. The event will provide D.C. veterans with an opportunity to meet with private-sector companies and all District, state and federal agencies that are seeking to hire qualified applicants with military experience. Some agencies will interview D.C. veterans on the spot for positions.

TIME: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

LOCATION: D.C. National Guard Armory, 2001 E. Capitol

Veterans will also be able to attend professional development workshops facilitated by the D.C. Department of Employment Services, the Department of Small Local Business Development and Monster.com.

DC Hires Vets is free of charge. All veterans are highly encouraged to register via Eventbrite. (link above) Registration will also be available at the door. All veterans should bring either their (1) military ID, (2) DD-214, (3) VA card, or (4) letter from an assisted veterans' home for expedited entry.
