WASHINGTON, DC (09/29/2017) (readMedia)-- The District of Columbia National Guard will be hosting a wellness event that is open to the public at the D.C. National Guard Armory Sept. 30, 2017.
The D.C. National Guard Wellness Blaze, is an event centered on all aspects of wellness. The intent of Wellness Blaze is to display the principles of resilience and fitness that are important to both service members and the community. The event will include a 5K and 1 mile, fun run/walk and wellness expo. The event starts at 8:00 am, and is free of charge.
The 5K and 1 mile, fun run/walk will be across from the Armory in RFK stadium lot 7. The purpose of the run/walk is to ignite the fires of fitness, for all ages, prior to the health and wellness expo. It is also an opportunity for community and guard members to exercise together.
Regristration for the run/walk is now closed. However, registration will be available on site. Participants or potential participants can still visit the Eventbrite Website to learn more about the event: keyword search "wellness blaze 5k runwalk."
The wellness expo will be located on the armory floor and will feature organizations that promote different aspects of wellness. There will also be guest speakers to talk on wellness topics. Some of the organizations will host work out sessions on site. Everyone is encouraged to wear proper fitness attire.
