WASHINGTON, DC (06/08/2016)(readMedia)-- The Band of the Nation's Capital: the District of Columbia National Guard's 257th Army Band, will conduct concerts at venues across the National Capital Region June 11 and July 31 to August 7, 2016.The concert series is a program of classics from almost every musical genre. The dates and locations of the concerts are listed below. All concerts have free admission and are open to the general public. Performances will include saxophone soloist Specialist Katie Beach, trombone soloist, Sergeant Paul Deschene, and vocal soloist Sergeant Vicki Golding.June 11, D.C. Joyce Street, Arlington VA, 7:00pm;July 31, Harris Pavilion, 9201 Center Street, Manassas VA, 3:00pm;August 1, Market Square, 202 King Street, Alexandria VA, 7:00pm;August 2, Lincoln Park, East Capitol and 11th Streets NE, Washington DC, 7:00pm;August 4, Bowie Center for the Performing Arts, 15200 Annapolis Road, Bowie MD, 7:00pm;August 5, La Plata Town Hall, 305 Queen Anne Street, La Plata MD, 7:00pm;August 6, National Harbor, 165 Waterfront Street, Oxon Hill MD, 12:00pm;The 257th Army Band, "The Band of the Nation's Capital" is comprised of citizen soldier musicians of the DC National Guard. Historically, it provided musical support for an Inaugural Ball for President Barack Obama, the burial of the Unknown Solider in 1921, the state funeral of Presidents Harding and Kennedy and overseas missions to Greece, Panama, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Jamaica. The Band has also given performances at The Great American Brass Band Festival, throughout the National Capital Region, and across the nation.For more information contact D.C.
